Nostalgia

So there I am, flicking through the TV channels looking for something to watch. Everything on just sucks. I mean, who wants to watch Dancing With the Stars or American Idol anyway? Total crap. Worse than crap even. I long for the days when quality programming ruled the airwaves. A time when three networks (four if you counted that PBS shit) was all we needed to sastisfy our desire for wholesome entertainment. Where have those days gone? What have we come to? I think we need to bring back the best of a lost generation of viewing excellence. I think we need to divest ourselves of the dreck on modern television and go back to a golden era of televised creativity that seems lost on modern America.

I say bring back The Misadventures of Sherriff Lobo. I say bring back Salvage 1. Life hasn’t been the same without BJ and the Bear. And who doesn’t want to see Steve Austin make a comeback in The Six Million Dollar Man? Come on, when he went up against Bigfoot, that was frickin’ Emmy-winning material. It was awesome!

Where is the commitment to standards these days? I feel that we slip further into a cultural abyss….
