I can’t seem to wipe this damn smile off my face.  The honorable thing would be to say that the Vikings fought a valiant fight and all that.  But………… Frak Em!

Detroit Lions win/loss prediction for the 2011 NFL season

Posted in Football with tags , , on 7 September 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

On 12 September 2010 I predicted that the Lions would end up 6 and 10 at the end of that season.  Their record last year… 6 and 10.  You can’t get it any closer than that Freaks.  My week to week pics have an occasional miss, but the final season standing is always on the money.  So how will they do this year?  Well here it is:

I officially predict NINE victories for the Lions this season.  So an overal 9 and 7 season is what we have in stor for Detroit.  It shall begin Sunday with their win over the Bucs.  It has been written, it shall be done.

Sneak Peak at next week………..

Random rant threads I’ve yet to decided on using next week:

1.  Just because the DHS thinks I AM the profile of a threat (because so many middle aged white gun owning war veterans are rampaging through the streets/taking hostages/blowing up buildings ect…) doesn’t mean that I’m not cuddly and fun.  It means they have become the biggest fraking morons on the plant.  It actually scares me to think what this PC horseshit may be doing to any legitimate security efforts.

2.  The RNC gave an unneeded moral high-ground victory to President Obama by not volunteering to move the Republican primary debate back a night.  He is the President of the United Sates after all.  Even though I don’t support the man himself I do still respect the office of the President of the United States.  The night picked by the WH was a B.S. play, but the RNC could have turned it around and came out looking like the “better man” on the issue.   Point to the Prez.

3.  I’m so fraking giddy about the new NFL season I  have to concentrate not to pee on myself.

4.  The Congressional Black Caucus needed to tell it’s folks that their repeated racists comments accusing any group of non-DNC white folks as racist is well……….. racist.  They look like race baiting oppertunists with zero grasp on any form of Congressional issue.  Can I start a “Vote out the CBC before they make the rest of us even dumber for hearing them speak.” PAC? names a bit long, but I’ll work on it.

5.  I do sooooo love my beer, but it’s got to many damn calories.  With the help of some good friends I’ve begun a training regiment of various Scotches and Irish Whiskey.  Not really a rant.  More of a general bitch that good beer has to many calories   and Whiskey/Scotch is just to damn expensive.

Only 37 Days to kickoff

All right you shifty Freaks it is in the wind.   That’s right the NFL!  Can I get a mental fist bump?  Oh yeah it’s on now baby.  As always, I will give you my predictions 24 to 48 hours before each Detroit Lions matchup.  In addition to that, on 9 September I will tell you how the season will end for the Lion’s W/L column after week 17.  RE: My 5 Jan 11 post were I picked the Lion’s exact 6-10 final season count on 12 Sept 2010.  That’s a high bar for the Pissed Off Tree Rat to set for himself this season, but Allons-Y!

More NFL Lockout diversion (Cricket World Cup update)

Posted in Football with tags , , , , , on 20 March 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

Don’t miss Pakistan v West Indies (Match C) this Wednesday!  Sucks that’s it’s on at 0330 my time.  Really that’s the beer talking.  The only Cricket I know a thing about is named Jiminy.

ESPN: Having had their World Cup quarter-final spot confirmed by South Africa’s victory over Bangladesh on Saturday, England spent the second half of their weekend at a holding camp in Delhi waiting to see where they would begin their knockout campaign and the identity of the opposition. However, having lived on the edge throughout their campaign, they aren’t really bothered about the finer points.

There are two worthwhile comparisons to make surrounding England’s current position. The first is last year’s World Twenty20 when they scrapped out of the group stage after a washout against Ireland, before embarking on five consecutive victories to claim the title in Barbados. Then, going back more than a decade, there are similarities with Australia’s position at the 1999 World Cup.

I still have no idea what that all means…………..  But I do know the NFL needs to get it’s act together pronto before I start watching Curling!

NFL Lockout diversions……….

Posted in Football with tags , , , , on 16 March 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

Yes the NFLPA and NFL Corperate Offices are still schmucks.

Todays sport headline of note is:

Cricket World Cup: S Africa progress as Ireland bow out.

South Africa booked their place in the World Cup quarter-finals and ended Ireland’s hopes of progressing with a 131-run win at Eden Gardens.

The result leaves India, West Indies, Bangladesh and England fighting for the other top-four berths in Group B.

Ireland did well to limit South Africa to 272-7 after asking them to bat, with JP Duminy out in the last over for 99.

But Morne Morkel (3-33) and Robin Peterson (3-32) impressed as South Africa bowled Ireland out for 141.

I have no idea what that means besides the Brits think it’s a big deal and, NO NFL.  Do the Alsatians play cricket?  Apperantly I need to find a team to back.  Frak.

NFL lockout in now effect

Posted in Football with tags , , , , on 12 March 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

Side One: greedy owners who already rake in millions and keep squeezing the public for even more every season.

Side Two: greedy players who already make millions and demand even more of the cut the owners keep squeezing out of the fans.

The Winner:  Both sets of greedy bastards will eventually settle with a tie.

The Loser:  Only the fans who just watch some football but are getting bent over by millionaire fat cat owners, and players, squabbling over how to spend our loose change.

Well the Red Wings game starts at 8:00 tonight.   Time to watch some NHL.
