Guess what, Hewlett Packard thinks the Obama Administration is full of s#it. Yup, even the loyal “blue” businesses that funded his campaign.

This made it to my desk this week.  Check out the corporate quote they are using for their flyer.  You know your policies suck when businesses are running ads telling you just that as part of their marketing campaign to consumers.  A campaign of “We are a Blue Company, but the Administration is wrong and the Tea Party is Right”.  It boggles my mind how clueless or President and his advisers are.

I have a feeling that when the President’s campaign bundlers call on HP for more money, for four more years of Hoping to Get Some Change Some-damn-where,  their gonna get a pretty straight forward “Frak off!”.   Rightfully so.

So what does a wartime President do when his game plan is to ignore it till it goes away?

Funny thing.  When a country is at war that’s usually a pretty up front sort of thing for a nations leader.   Let’s not kid ourselves here, besides the obligatory ”Support out men and women serving overseas.” comments on some holiday or another,  nobody really claims that the President is focused on the war effort.  Even the Iraq exodus was forced on him by the Iraqi’s refusal to agree to a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA).  His claim that this fills  a campaign promise is a crock as he had the state department fighting tooth and nail to get a SOFA in place for 50,000 troops in 2012.  When that fell through all the sudden it was his plan after all.  What a load.  Now his problem is that he has to make a decision in Afghanistan.   Yup he does, not the Generals or some politically favored Czar.  It’s political, affects the war and won’t go away till he weighs in.  Ohhh no he actually has to make a decision that is unambiguous and on the record.   Problem:  he pushed a plan of bombing Insurgents in Pakistan, Pakistan don’t like that,  America screw up (allegedly) and killed 24 Pakistani boarder guards, Pakistan don’t like that, Pakistan has demanded the closure of the U.S. base on their soil and has closed our land resupply route into Afghanistan.  This is big strategic political war effort time.  The sort of thing that a leader has to commit to if the war is to be won.  I’m not proposing any solution.  I’ll just be watching to see if out elected leader steps up and earns his spurs, or stalls and hopes the problem just goes away.  Unfortunately the “stall and hope the problem just goes away” seems to be the President’s reaction of choice when faced with difficult decisions.

What the hell is the 99% really, and who decided to lump my ass into their silly equation?

Posted in Politics with tags , , on 14 November 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

I do love a good protest no matter the cause.  As I’ve said in the past, they make me smile and they remind me what a great country America really is.  I would begrudge no group the opportunity to put on display their 1st Amendment Rights  in a peaceful and law abiding way.  But this Occupy INSERT NAME HERE deal has The Pissed Off Tree Rat lost deep in contemplation.  It’s the whole 99 percent thing that apparently I’m lumped into.   While in itself that concept is inherently wrong, as I would be the obvious choice for Despotic Ruler of any new form of society,  I just can’t come to grips with the whole point.  But I digress so lets get back to it.

According to the occasionally accurate Wikipedia the 99% are defined as:

We are the 99%“, refers to thedifference in wealth and income growth in the U.S. between the wealthiest 1% and the rest of the population.

OK…………  So it’s  purely money thing then.  I’ll ignore the entire randomness of the rest of the socialist drivel you hear in OWS interviews  and focus on the apparent intent of the 99% as screwed over victims of the evil banking industry that has destroyed or lives.  Here’s a good summation of my issue with this:

As it turns out, the bottom 99 percent of the United States doesn’t make the top 1 percent of household incomes worldwide — but it comes surprisingly close. Branko Milanovic, lead economist for the World Bank research group, sent me this comparative analysis based on household income or consumption surveys worldwide, adjusted for purchasing power differences. Those at the 34th percentile of income in the United States are at the 90th percentile globally, and those at the 50th percentile in the United States are at the 93rd percentile globally. Even the very poorest Americans — those at the 2nd percentile of income in the United States — are at the 62nd percentile globally.

So in reality while the “OWS 99%” are grousing on about the statistically questionable “1%” are actually in fact themselves  ”The Evil Greedy Global Criminal Top 39%” who are consuming their fat assed lazy way through the planet on the backs of the rest of the 61%.  It’s all a matter of perspective of where you sit folks.    The Gods honest truth is that we haven’t been criminally abused by the banks and are better off than most of the rest of the world in general.

Sure it sucks when you can’t pay your mortgage or credit card. But guess what?  That’s not the banks fault, it’s yours and mine.   The banks do not force money into your hand at a 14% interest rate unless you ask then too. If the banks get caught doing something “illegal” there are already laws.  Hell, we’re not exactly a country that skimps on banking regulations folks.   It sucks when you can’t get a job.   But that’s another post and I’m still trying to find out who decided to lump my ass into their silly 99% equation?  I’d like to be excluded from that random grouping as I represent my own damn self and not some member of The Evil Greedy Global Criminal 39% that spends his/her days sleeping in a tent in the middle of a traffic circle.

Covers them side by side.

“WTF is that about?!” you say.   I do so love the random.  That and I enjoy Kipling.  So deal.

-The POTR

Bottom line, when you cut the crap, is that the Democrats are actively trying to enable voter fraud.

The Pissed Off Tree Rat is pissed.  Yup, even more than usual.

You need a photo ID to:

Drive.

Buy beer.

Buy Smokes.

Buy nasal decongestant at WalMart.

Check into a hotel.

Rent a DVD at Blockbuster.

Get on a plane.

Buy a car.

See an R-Rated movie.

And so on, and so forth……………

So when states legislate an ID requirement to vote what’s our Command and Chief have to say?

TPM.  “I will say that my big priority is making sure that as many people are participating in our democracy as possible,” Obama said. “Some of these moves in some of the other states that we’ve seen try to make it tougher to vote, restricting ballot access, making it hard on seniors, making it hard on young people.

“I think that’s a big mistake, and I have made sure that our Justice Department is taking a look at what’s being done across the country to ensure that people aren’t being denied access to the franchise,” Obama said.

Buying beer, or smokes, or cold meds needs to be controlled tighter than casting a vote in President Obama’s opinion. The only reason to fight voter ID laws is an overt desire to support voter fraud.  Being asked for ID when buying a 12 pack, when you’re over 40, is just inconvenient and stupid but I do it anyway.  Arguing that a state has no right to ask for my ID to vote is just fraking insane!  Any DOJ employees with a grain of decency , or common sense,  should be throwing up right about now.

I don’t know what pisses me off more, the idea that you don’t need to produce a photo ID to vote or that the President tries to argue that weak assed disenfranchisement bullshit as the excuse to facilitate plain old DNC turn-out-the-vote fraud.

A legislative branch that doesn’t, or just can’t, legislate and an executive branch without any executive know how or ability to learn.

****UPDATED****

The current/ongoing Legislative failure:

In three weeks the 12-member Super Committee get to emerge from their secret sessions to force their edict of the 12 upon all of Congress and the United States of America.  Members of Congress will not be allowed to amend or modify in any way the conclusions of this super-powered committee.  This insane procedure mandates only a single yes or no vote by Congress as a whole.   This is an all or nothing, take it or leave it, devil be damned etc deal.  And since the only other option to the Committees recommendations are automatic arbitrary cuts  with no impact analysis, the cowards of Congress have no skin in the game.  This bullshit deal was devised to give every damn one of them plausibility deniability.  This is a bipartisan failure and willing participation in the extortion of their constituents.

This week’s Executive failure:

WASHINGTON –  Government-controlled mortgage giant Freddie Mac has requested $6 billion in additional aid after posting a wider loss in the third quarter.

Freddie Mac said Thursday that it lost $4.4 billion, or $1.86 per share, in the July-September quarter. That compares with a loss of $4.1 billion, or $1.25 a share, in the same quarter of 2010.

And how do the punish the failure of U.S. Representative Barney Frank’s pets to properly manage our $BILLIONS$ ?

Politico. The Federal Housing Finance Agency, which regulates the mortgage giants that are now under government receivership, has approved $12.79 million in bonus pay for the performance of 10 executives at Fannie and Freddie last year despite both companies posting losses in all four quarters.

What did the President have to say about that in 2009 when he selling the largest taxpayer funded political cronyism kickback in history to America?

And in order to restore trust, we’ve got to make certain that taxpayer funds are not subsidizing excessive compensation packages on Wall Street.

We all need to take responsibility. And this includes executives at major financial firms who turned to the American people, hat in hand, when they were in trouble, even as they paid themselves their customary lavish bonuses. As I said last week, that’s the height of irresponsibility. That’s shameful. And that’s exactly the kind of disregard for the costs and consequences of their actions that brought about this crisis: a culture of narrow self-interest and short-term gain at the expense of everything else.

And what the President have to say about that in 2011 when it’s his own political benifactors?

Not a fraking thing.  Nada, zip, zilch.  To call this disgusting is an understatement.  To reelect any incumbent in 2012 is a folly and a continuing sentence of financial slavery forced upon our children.

**UPDATE**

White House aides say President Obama took a lead on cleaning up excessive compensation on Wall Street with the Dodd-Frank bill, but those provisions do not apply to Fannie and Freddie.

“The White House was not involved, and nor should it be,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday.

How do you like it when the Commander and Chief tells America to”Frak Off and mind you own business.”?  I for one don’t like it one damn bit.  Where are the OWS Freaks on this one?  They sure as hell should be protesting outside the White House if they stood for what they say they do.  I personally think they’re full of shit with no credibility what so ever.

Occupy INSERT NAME HERE

Posted in Politics with tags , on 21 October 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

Occupy INSERT NAME HERE has no idea what it is.   When the weather gets cold they will all go home.  They will have accomplished zip.  Oh well, God bless em and I hope they appreciate how wonderful this country is that allows them to Occupy INSERT NAME HERE with the only risk being a possible fine/ticket or inconvenient catch and release by the police on crowd control violation.    I smile and wave every time I see protesters no matter what they are about or even if I hate their cause except for the Westboro Baptist Church (that’s a personal singular animosity).  Why?  Cause they’re not being shot at by the government or blown to pieces by an opposition party.  I’ve witness both of those things and lived half of my life in countries where things like that are barely notworthy.  Having that in my mind I genually do smile and wish them well.  I love the protests because I know it’s why our country is the greatest in the world.  I just hope a man or woman appreciates that when they pick up their signs and head off to “Occupy INSERT NAME HERE”.  They are truly living in the greatest country in the world even if they don’t realize it now.

Do I know what I’m about?  Yup.  Thought it was obvious:   Politics, guns, beer, the Detroit Lions and preparations for the coming Zombie Invasion.

The POTR has never been accused of being politically correct

P.C. is for cowards, fakes and fence sitters.

Always have been and always will be a Christian Friend of Israel.  Too bad our ‘current’ government is not.

And your DNC campaign contributions go to……

Posted in Politics with tags , , , on 14 September 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

And your DNC campaign contributions go to…… well…… AttackWatch.com  H/T to them as I love the URL!  http://my.barackobama.com/page/s/join-attack-wire-today

“Join the Attack” that’s toning down the rhetoric of course.  Paid for with your political contributions so Lefty Wingnuts can report Righty Wingnut websites to the Administration.  Remember Freaks, when reporting on The Pissed off Tree Rat I prefer “Right wing gun-toting beer sodden Zombie Hunter” over “Wingnut”.  Orwellian thoughts aside this has to be one of the dumbest campaign expenditures I’ve ever seen.  Well at least in the top 20.  Does anyone really care enough to feel the need to report that I don’t believe President Obama is a friend to Israel?  It appears these folks want to know.  Hell, I’m even sending them a URL trackback to make the reporting easier.   Cause I’m a nice guy and all.

Sneak Peak at next week………..

Random rant threads I’ve yet to decided on using next week:

1.  Just because the DHS thinks I AM the profile of a threat (because so many middle aged white gun owning war veterans are rampaging through the streets/taking hostages/blowing up buildings ect…) doesn’t mean that I’m not cuddly and fun.  It means they have become the biggest fraking morons on the plant.  It actually scares me to think what this PC horseshit may be doing to any legitimate security efforts.

2.  The RNC gave an unneeded moral high-ground victory to President Obama by not volunteering to move the Republican primary debate back a night.  He is the President of the United Sates after all.  Even though I don’t support the man himself I do still respect the office of the President of the United States.  The night picked by the WH was a B.S. play, but the RNC could have turned it around and came out looking like the “better man” on the issue.   Point to the Prez.

3.  I’m so fraking giddy about the new NFL season I  have to concentrate not to pee on myself.

4.  The Congressional Black Caucus needed to tell it’s folks that their repeated racists comments accusing any group of non-DNC white folks as racist is well……….. racist.  They look like race baiting oppertunists with zero grasp on any form of Congressional issue.  Can I start a “Vote out the CBC before they make the rest of us even dumber for hearing them speak.” PAC? names a bit long, but I’ll work on it.

5.  I do sooooo love my beer, but it’s got to many damn calories.  With the help of some good friends I’ve begun a training regiment of various Scotches and Irish Whiskey.  Not really a rant.  More of a general bitch that good beer has to many calories   and Whiskey/Scotch is just to damn expensive.
