What the hell is up with this clown?!

POTUS Statement today (CNN):

In an energetic speech to workers at a Holland, Michigan, hybrid car battery plant helped by government stimulus funds, Obama said the U.S. economy and American workers are capable of being the best in the world, but were being held back by political stalemate in Congress.

“There is nothing wrong with our country. There is something wrong with our politics,” Obama declared to applause.

Someone PLEASE tell my why liberals buy into this?

Posted in Politics with tags , , on 6 August 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

Dear Liberal friends,  aren’t you the least bit insulted by this?

From The Hill: The president, in a video conference with supporters Wednesday night from Chicago, encouraged his backers to focus on broad themes when it comes to his policies on taxes and war, instead of the specifics of individual policies.

“I think the key is not to get too bogged down in detail,” the president said last night.

Not to get “bogged down in detail”?  Just follow the President out of blind allegiance to his vision no matter what he actually does.  Is that what he expects folks to do?  Platitudes and catchy slogans are for campaigns ,not for the actual administration of an organization let alone the whole country.  By this point in the current administration you’d THINK that somebody has some details on something.  You can’t vote “present” any more when you are in charge.  Nope.  Not allowed.  You must get into the details.  That’s what a President is elected to do.  I just don’t get it.  I want my elected officials to give me details.  They get to be purveyors of vision on the campaign trail, but when they get to sit in the big boy chairs it’s time to get to it and figure out how to execute their plan.

The Sarah Palin conspiracy has finally been revealed

Posted in Politics with tags , , , , , , , on 3 June 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

The Sarah Palin conspiracy has been revealed to me at last.  I, like most political junkies, have been watching the Palin Campaign(?) Tour(?) Show(?) and wondering just what the hell she’s doing.  Well last night as the pink elephants paraded through my room the revelation hit me and yes, you wonderful Freaks all, it is in fact a conspiracy.   Well maybe “conspiracy” may be a bit much, but it is in fact a “something”.  My vision will be revealed to you but first, Webster’s defines “conspiracy” as:

Definition of CONSPIRACY

1: the act of conspiring together

2a : an agreement among conspirators b : a group of conspirators

So with that in mind I’ll stick with The Great Palin Conspiracy of 2012.  So you ready for it?  Really?  Because once I tell you you’re a part of it and that can’t be undone?  OK, I sense your head nodding.  Quick, turn out your lights and hunch suspiciously over your keyboard.  Look around…………. Glance over your shoulder……….  All clear?  Good.  Get this:  she has no intention in running for President.

“WHAT?!  That’s not a conspiracy you moron!  You got me all worked up for nothing.  Now my damn light’s out and my spouse thinks I’m cruising porn in here!” you scream.

But wait there is more my friends.  It’s even more diabolical.  Enough so that Chris Matthews will be cursing the tingle in his leg that he didn’t break news of it’s conspiracy-plot-ish-ness first.

“S@IT POTR!  Will you get the frak on with it already?”  you mumble between sips of your malt beverage.

Just think about what Sarah Palin does exceptionally well:

1.  Pull in political pundits to talk about her on every Sunday morning show.

2. Raise money.

3.  Make the media seek her out like tabloid paparazzi dogs in heat no matter where in the country she is.

”So what vision did the inebriation pachyderms reveal to you POTR?” you now ask with a curious tilt to you head.

Ahhhh……… just this.  She doesn’t want to be President.  Not right now.  She wants to become a metaphorical 155mm Political Katyusha Rocket aimed right at Capital Hill.  She wants to push some real change in the best way she can.  She is seeking a nomination, but not for President.  She’s seeking the nomination for Chairman of the Tea Party National Committee.  The vision is of her becoming the Chair of the first viable 3rd Party Political movement in decades that she will wrangle into existence by uniting the loosely affiliated current Tea Party groups firmly under one umbrella and charter.  The threat of a Third Party with a real block of votes in congress is more threatening to the RNC/DNC stranglehold over our Government that any of their fears of a single Executive Office party election loss.  A viable Third Party would destroy the status quo and the partisan locks on power and policy.  I think Sarah Palin dreams of just such a thing.  To be honest, so do me and my new big eared peanut munching friends.

Bottom line, change sucks…..
Two and one-half years ago the liberals prevailed with their message of Hope and Change.

Remote dispatch from the field of the Z-War preparations #3

***REMOTE Z.E.R.O. DISPATCH***
***BE PREPARED OR BE EATEN***
Still on the front.  Delayed for 12 hours in my movement to the desert Southwest for some more extended ops.  Damn weather has caused havoc on some good folks in the Midwest and my flights.  My prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones.  Unlike most of these other jack asses in the airport, I will wait patiently through my delays and not take my frustrations out on the airline employees.  I am mature enough to know it’s not their fault.  I save all my bottled fury for the living dead.

As I cruise the net sitting on my ass in the airport I just have to leave you with the following screen shot that caught my eye.  Who knew he was Irish too?   It’s a funny world sometimes.

-THE POTR OUT

Should The Pissed Off Tree Rat enter the 2012 election race?

Posted in Politics with tags , , , , , on 11 May 2011 by The Pissed Off Tree Rat

I have to ask myself that question.  As the RNC race pool begins to churn (DNC candidate already locked in of course) you see the “no chance in hell candidates” begin to declare themselves avaliable for the Political Draft pool of the RNC.  I never have figured out why some folks would invest so much time and money in running a losing race on a hourse with no legs.

Today’s list of canidates to throw your political contribution money behind if you lack a burn pit in your back yard to waste it in:

Newt Gingrich – Turning 68 this June and carries more baggage than a JFK curbside porter.  Newt is old school insider politics.  I for one, lump him in with the generational Congressional problem children that the average American has been begging to cull from that stricken herd on the Hill in D.C.  No chance he’ll get backing from the Tea Party or swing voters.  Time for him to renew his broadcast political pundit contract.  Sorry Newt, new blood wins the next nomination.  No matter how you retool your image your out now.  Again.  Please reread the memo.  Now stay out.

Donald Trump – A cartoonish character with some business savy, but barely enough credibility as a true conservitive to legally even be called one in the state of Texas.  Only chance he has of winning the nomination is if he comes up with “proof” that he personally shot Osama in the head while on duty as a Navy Seal Reservist.  Maybe you can turn your run into a new reality show.  I hear NBC is begging for an new Friday night line-up filler in the 10PM slot.

Michele Bachmann – Smart and attractive (enough to kill her chances with the hyporical media alone) is really really really conservitive.  So much show she makes The POTR look like a tree worshiping liberal pinko.  Don’t get me wrong now, I like where she’s going on alot of issues but I don’t think the voters are willing to turn the Executive ship that hard and that fast.  Final anchor on her campagn chances:  She’s from Minnesota and I fraking hate the damn Vikings!

What’s that flushing sound I hear?  Oh it’s their campaign contributers writing checks….

It’s got Big O & Zombies!

You KNOW I couldn’t pass this up…..  I’m pretty sure that Zombies can, and do, vote in most Blue States.

Do as I say, not as I do

“Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.” – Obama 2006

After that he voted against raising the Debt limit.  Too bad he lost that perspective when elected President.

Yeah, good times. I HOPE we get some damn CHANGE soon.

Paid $78 bucks to fill up my truck with gas yesterday and now remember fondly back on it being only $45, or $50 max,  two years ago

The U.S. has been sucked into a third nebulous war

Our Executive and Legislative branches of government are proving to be the most inept group of governing body clowns in my lifetime (so far)

Not sure how much I’ll get paid or when

The NFL is still in a lockout

Japan is hit with ANOTHER earthquake

Nancy Pelosi is headling for George Soros now and nobody seems to find that “wrong”

My laptop is missing it’s left arrow key

and I’m out of beer.

Yeah… good fraking times.  What’s next a full up Zombie Outbreak?!

Ruck up and forget about the family back home. They’ll figure something out….

There’s been a lot of political bickering back and forth on ‘semantics’ when stating if the military gets paid during a Government  shutdown.  The real answer is NO.  They do not get “paid”, they eventually get “paid back”.  There’s a huge difference.  The current pay period ends on the 15th of April.  If a shutdown occurs this Friday the servicemembers will receive a paycheck on the 15th for a one week period ending on the 8th.  The “pay due” will continue to build until such time as a continuing resolution, or a defense appropriation bill is passed.  At which time a servicemember will receive all “back pay” in their next check.  So even though a servicemember will eventually receive all their pay at a undetermined point in the future they will not in fact be “paid”.  Groceries can not be bought, gas can not be purchased and bills will not be paid by them or their families.   Each family will be reliant on any savings that they may, or may not, have accumulated.  Do you honestly have a month or two of pay saved up?  A Govt shutdown may be a political point to win for some.  All I see is PFC Smith in Afghanistan crying over the phone because his wife just told them they’re out of gas in the car and she has to walk to the store to buy food with their last $23 they have to get the family through the next weeks until maybe they are paid.  There’s nothing he can do and it cuts through his heart more than a bullet from one of our enemies.  That type of betrayal does not readily heal.

AFT - U.S. troops could be required to report to work without pay if a budget clash in Congress results in a government-wide shutdown, according to draft planning guidance circulating in the Pentagon.

“All military personnel will continue in normal duty status regardless of their affiliation with exempt or non-exempt activities,” says the draft planning guidance that was prepared for the services and defense agencies. “Military personnel will serve without pay until such time as Congress makes appropriated funds available to compensate them for this period of service.”

It’s a damn disgrace is what it is.
